March 17 - Cherrycran …
Nothing Irish today, sorry. I’m a little Irish Whiskey’d out after preparing this article for Primer Magazine.
I wanted to use some more of cranberry liqueur my wife made for me, and I also decided to use something she whipped up by combining the juice from a jar of Bada Bing cherries with about 2 ounces of amaretto. That seemed like enough fruit, though, so for the rest of the cocktail I used non-smoky scotch and a little Bonal to bring up the bitterness.
This is really good. You should make one and drink it!
1.5 oz. Scotch (Monkey Shoulder)
1 oz. Bonal
.5 oz. Cranberry Liqueur (Homemade)
.25 oz. Cherry-Amaretto Syrup (Homemade)
Dash Aromatic Bitters (Angostura)
Combine all ingredients in a pint glass over ice and stir thoroughly. Strain into a chilled cocktail coupe. Garnish with an orange twist.
